Those who spend [in Allâh's Cause - deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in   adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allâh loves Al-Muhsinûn (the gooddoers).
              (Surat Al-'Imran 3:134)

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ) as saying:
The strong-man is not one who wrestles well but the strong man is one who controls himself when he is in a fit of rage(intense anger).
            Sahih Muslim Book 032, 6313

Narated By Abu Huraira : A man said to the Prophet(Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ) ,
            “Advise me!
“The Prophet(Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ) said,
“Do not become angry and furious.” The man asked (the same) again and again, and the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam )said in each case, “Do not  become angry and furious
           Sahih Bukhari , Book 073, Hadith 137

Bahz ibn Hakeem reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

“Verily, anger corrupts the matter just as vinegar spoils honey.”

          [At-Tabarani, Al-Mu’jam Al-Kabeer, Number 16385, Hasan]

Abu Ad-Darda reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, tell me about a deed that will enter
me into Paradise.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“Do not get angry and you will enter Paradise.”

Remedies for Anger!

To calm anger,one should :
1)Say"Audthu billahi mina shaitaan nir rajeem" :
Narated By Sulaiman bin Surd : While I was sitting in the company of the Prophet(Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ), two men abused each other and the face of one of them became red with anger, and his jugular veins swelled (i.e. he became furious). On that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam )said, “I know a word, the saying of which will cause him to relax, if he does say it. If he says: ‘I seek Refuge with Allah from Satan.’["Audthu billahi mina shaitaan nir rajeem"] then all is anger will go away.” Some body said to him, “The Prophet(Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ) has said, ‘Seek refuge with Allah from Satan.”‘ The angry man said, “Am I mad?”Sahih Bukhari , Book 054, Hadith 502
2)Do Wudu:
Narated By Atiyyah as-Sa’di : AbuWa’il al-Qass said: We entered upon Urwah ibn Muhammad ibn as-Sa’di. A man spoke to him and made him angry. So he stood and performed ablution; he then returned and performed ablution, and said: My father told me on the authority of my grandfather Atiyyah who reported the Apostle of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ) as saying: Anger comes from the devil, the devil was created of fire, and fire is extinguished only with water; so when one of you becomes angry, he should perform ablution.
Abu Dawud Book 036, Hadith Number 4766

3)Do Sit or else lie down:
Narated By AbuDharr : The Apostle of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ) said to us: When one of you becomes angry while standing, he should sit down. If the anger leaves him, well and good; otherwise he should lie down.
Abu Dawud Book 036, Hadith Number 4764
